What is the time frame during this transition period of old Booklet to next-generation Booklet?

The next-generation Booklet will be issued for all homes enrolled in the 2-10 New Home Program on and after December 1, 2023. As always, ensure all your buyers are presented with the Booklet early in the contracting process. We have a template available for you to use with your buyers to acknowledge their receipt of the updated Booklet.

What changed?

We updated language regarding performance standards to improve experiences for builders and homeowners.

We also included a Home Maintenance Guide for homeowners in the New Home Warranty Booklet itself. This Maintenance Guide explains many important aspects of home maintenance that the homeowner is responsible for. This was something our Builder Members believed would be extremely valuable in terms of setting expectations and explaining the responsibilities homeowners have regarding home maintenance.

Additionally, we’ve inserted a link to an even more comprehensive digital Home Maintenance Guide, which will allow you to provide added value to your clients.

Finally, we redesigned the New Home Warranty Booklet to make it easier to use and understand.

Why did you update the warranty Booklet?

We updated the New Home Warranty Booklet to evolve with the changing needs of builders and to continue to occupy the bleeding edge of warranty administration.

2-10 is dedicated to continuous improvement to ensure that coverage and processes are as easy to understand as possible. This helps create better expectations, which in turn help create even better customer experiences.

We also included a Home Maintenance Guide for homeowners, which further sets clear expectations while giving homeowners the confidence and knowledge they need to leverage the New Home Warranty Booklet to the fullest.

How do I get my new Booklets?

Please contact your sales representative to order the new Booklets. If you do not yet have a sales representative, please contact our Warranty Administration team below.

Why is a Warranty Booklet important?

The New Home Warranty Booklet is a legal document that outlines the coverage your clients receive and the performance standards by which you abide.

Where can I update digital assets on my website?

You can access updated digital assets through your Builder Portal account at www.2-10.com/sign-in.

What if I give out an older Booklet after the new Booklet goes live?

There are no material coverage changes, so this should not present an issue for Builder Members or homeowners. However, in the event of a claim where there is a dispute regarding which Booklet applies, 2-10 and the Warranty Insurer will handle each situation on a case-by-case basis.

I’m already a 2-10 Builder Member. What do I need to do now?

Thank you for your commitment and allowing us to protect your homes and your business! If you don’t already have your new Booklet in hand, please reach out to your sales representative to obtain the quantity you need. If you already have our enhanced warranty Booklet, please familiarize yourself with it and reach out with any questions!
