The Texas Association of Builders acknowledged the work of 2-10 HBW’s McCalle Fryar, who has chaired the HomeAid Austin luncheon since 2018 and has raised over $1 million for HomeAid’s mission, by awarding her the Excellence Under 45 Award.
2-10 HBW also works hard to support the home-building industry at large. This includes recruiting members to local associations to help builders offer safe, affordable, high-quality housing.
In fact, 2-10 HBW’s Chris Clay was recognized by the Dallas Builders Association (DBA) for recruiting the most new members. This dedication to spreading excellence earned Chris back-to-back Shorty Awards in 2021 and 2022.
The Shorty Howard Trophy is given annually to the Association’s top membership recruiter for the previous 12 months. The award is named after one of the DBA’s legendary figures, an associate member who lived for bringing in members. Being the Association’s top membership recruiter at the time of his untimely death, Shorty Howard set an example that, today, the Dallas BA embraces as the embodiment of commitment.
“Chris Clay has done everything to recruit and retain members for the Dallas Builders Association,” says Coleman Yates, DBA’s Director of Membership. “His leadership as the Chair of the Membership Committee has seen that group grow in numbers, and they continue to engage members across the Association in a positive way.”
